Cheryl-Ann is the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dundee East, in the Scottish Parliamentary Elections 2026.

A NEW DIRECTION FOR DUNDEE EAST
For the NHS where we cut waiting lists, make sure the NHS is there when you need it and that it’s fit for the future.
For our communities with more police on the street and where you feel safe.
For our economy where it grows, we support our businesses, revitalise our high streets and deliver better paid jobs.
For our democracy where we push power and resources out and serve you.
For our young people where we close the opportunity gap and give them all the chance to flourish.
A Scotland where government serves the people.

Cheryl-Ann’s core commitments that shape her campaign.
An end to the Housing Emergency
Committed to expanding access to safe, affordable homes for all.
A strong Local Economy
Standing up for local jobs, innovation, and sustainable growth, to secure prosperity for residents of all ages.
Accessible Healthcare for Everyone
Advocating for healthcare that meets the needs of every community.
Ending Poverty and Drug Harm
Focused on practical solutions to reduce poverty and drug-related deaths.
Standing up for the people of Dundee East
Scotland has been damaged by 18 years of SNP rule. Don’t just take my word for it, the facts don’t lie.
A Scottish Labour government would deliver planning reform to boost house building, deliver fair funding to Councils and put home ownership back within reach of working people.
Our education system is broken
Schools are overwhelmed by a sharp increase in children with additional support needs, including dyslexia and ADHD at a time when NHS Tayside have stopped accepting new referrals. Waiting times for those already on the list can be several years. Stuart Hunter, president of the Scottish Secondary Teachers Association, said the schools system “has passed the tipping point leading to crisis.
Dundee’s record on Child Poverty has worsened under SNP rule.
Dundee has one of the highest Child Poverty rates in Scotland. The estimate is 28.2% of our children were living in relative poverty in 2023 compared to 24.5% across Scotland as a whole. The poorest of Dundee saw no benefit from £1bn waterfront regeneration according to the Accounts Commission. “A marked contrast to the endemic poverty, inequality and drug related deaths.
We have a Housing Emergency yet the SNP have no plan to fix it.
As the housing crisis in Scotland has worsened, the SNP’s response has been widely criticized. Despite the growing need for affordable homes, nearly £200 million was cut from the affordable housing budget under their administration. This reduction has contributed to a rise in the number of children living in temporary accommodation each year. For many working families, owning a home has become an unattainable dream, highlighting the urgent need for effective policies and investment in affordable housing solutions. Nearly 900 homes in Dundee are now known to contain RAAC, the highest number of affected residential properties in Scotland. Many in Dundee East.
Our Social Care system is overwhelmed but the SNP’s National Care Service Plans have fallen apart.
According to Public Health Scotland’s April 2025 report 6,461 people were waiting on a social care assessment in Scotland. The SNP’s Public Health Minister, Jenni Minto, has admitted that people could be dying as a result of later cancer diagnosis.
Investing in our young people with well paid skilled jobs
Scottish Labour will back a major overhaul of the skills system to help young Scots access training and secure well paid jobs.
Cheryl-Ann is committed to building a fairer Dundee East by focusing on quality education and skills. Her vision drives her commitment to tackling poverty and creating green jobs for young people.
Scottish Labour wants to see every child in Scotland given the opportunity to succeed, no matter their background or circumstances. We recognise that Scotland’s future economic, social and cultural success will be built on its children leaving school as confident citizens, supported and equipped to realise their full potential.
